The Brown Forman Engineering Academy is a two-week residential program designed to prepare accepted incoming Engineering freshmen both academically and personally. This enrichment program is designed to assist students with their transition into college through: academic prep, peer support, faculty relationship building, and student success programming. Students accepted into this program will stay in the Engineering Living and Learning Community residence hall. Students will take a calculus prep course, attend seminars (tips to test taking, resilience, study skills, etc.), meet faculty, build a cohort of peer support, receive a Speed School mentor, participate in community service, tour engineering companies, and gain insight on successfully transitioning to college in the Engineering program. In addition, accepted students will share the same block of classes in the fall and will continue to meet as a cohort for both fall and spring semesters. When is the program? This year the Academy will run July 24th – August 4th. Accepted participants will stay in Community Park Residence Hall for the entirety of the program including the weekend. All meals are included. Here is what previous students had to say about the program "I absolutely loved this program, I'm grateful that I got to participate in it. I got to meet new people, joke with them, and (in years to come) grow with them. I feel fully prepared for the rigors of Speed School and I would absolutely recommend this program to incoming freshmen for years to come".
